One and a half miles
from the centre of the historic market town of East Grinstead,
home of the world famous Queen Victoria Hospital.
Little Coombe Cottage lies midway between
London and the South Coast and is easily accessible by car,
train, bus or air (Gatwick airport is 11 miles away). It offers
an ideal base for exploring the South East of England and
beyond.
Among the numerous attractions in the vicinity
are National Trust and other properties such as Chartwell,
Hever Castle, Penshurst Place and Standen and gardens such
as Wakehurst Place (the country Kew) Sissinghurst and Batemans
(home of Rudyard Kipling). The famous Bluebell
Steam Railway is just over the hill and is shortly to be connected
to East Grinstead. Ashdown Forest including the home of Winnie
the Pooh is just 3 miles away. You can visit the bridge where
the game of Pooh Sticks was invented.
